USR collaboratively created the "From Chemistry to Art, Daliao Elementary School Students' Little Experience Camp."

In the afternoon, there will be a guided tour of the exhibitions at the Kaohsiung Art Museum, with on-site exploration of the Nei Wei Art Center.

HOPAX and the College of Management at National Sun Yat-sen University, as part of the university's University Social Responsibility (USR) program, are jointly committed to promoting the social responsibility of universities and businesses. They organized a public welfare event called "From Chemistry to Art Experience Camp" at Chiaolio Elementary School and Xiliao Elementary School in Daliao District, Kaohsiung City, with a total of 48 students from Daliao District participating. Leveraging HOPAX's expertise in chemistry and biotechnology, the camp combined art aesthetics as the learning theme. The students played the role of "Little Chemists" by engaging in on-site chemical experiments, transformed into "Little Artists" by visiting the exhibitions at the Kaohsiung Art Museum, and became "Little Observers" through field visits to the Nei Wei Art Center. The aim is to promote primary school students' awareness of local industries in Daliao, expose them to diverse fields, broaden their perspectives, and stimulate their imagination for future careers.

In the morning session, the chemistry experiment course was conducted by the older brothers from HOPAX's research and development center. They designed experiments introducing the principles of cyanotype, allowing the students to hands-on experience creating their unique cyanotype artworks using sunlight and chemical reactions. Additionally, special lab coats and gloves were prepared for the children, transforming them into little chemists. The experimental process not only helped primary school students understand the application of cyanotype in art, photography, and other fields but also taught them how to use chemical reactions to create unique blueprints. The camp aimed to cultivate observation skills, experimental abilities, and encourage the children to envision their own future blueprints.

The "Nei Wei Art Center" is a collaborative project involving the Kaohsiung Art Museum, Kaohsiung History Museum, and the Cinema, situated between the Kaohsiung Art Museum and the Children's Art Museum on the west side of Maqiao Road within the Kaohsiung Art Museum's campus. The C21A Circular Light Rail station is only a 3-minute walk away. Designed by architect Liu Pei-Sen, the building's exterior echoes the undulating mountainous terrain of Chaisan. It features a design with strip-like, lightweight structures that harmonize with the natural landscape. The architecture incorporates a roaming, permeable circulation path, connecting exhibition spaces for collections and restoration, a family-friendly cinema, cultural and creative merchandise, and a light dining area.

In the future, the Nei Wei Art Center aims to provide an experiential and interactive art engagement, allowing the public to leisurely enjoy a day in the over 40-hectare Kaohsiung Art Museum area. This area integrates public art and natural ecology, creating an artful lifestyle circle. The goal is to foster a warm and close connection with the Nei Wei community and the surrounding community.
